Tired of Waking Up with Debilitating Morning pain in your Arch?
(Even If You’ve Been Struggling with “First-Step Pain” for Months!)
"WALK WITH MY CANE!"
"Very great people and the treatments I have received are working well for my balance and strengthening to walk without my cane and feel better about myself" - Tim Mosely Anchorage, AK
I grew up in a ski resort town in northern Arizona, where being active was just a way of life. After earning my degree in Exercise Science from Arizona State University in 1999, I went on to complete my Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2005. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of running my own practice in both Colorado and Alaska.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me on the slopes, mountain biking, or playing drums with my band. I’m also a father of four, and we make it a point to spend as much time outdoors as possible, no matter the season. I’m committed to helping you get out of pain and providing the highest level of care to our community.

Plantar fasciitis is a condition that affects the band of tissue (the plantar fascia) running along the bottom of your foot. If you’re dealing with it, you’ve probably noticed a sharp, stabbing pain when you first get out of bed in the morning. That initial discomfort can be overwhelming, and it might feel like you’re stepping on sharp glass.
Unfortunately, the pain doesn’t stop there. Even basic activities like walking or standing for more than a few minutes can become challenging, making tasks like cooking, shopping, or even just getting around feel like a struggle.
This condition doesn’t just affect your feet—it impacts your entire life. Many people find themselves avoiding activities they once enjoyed, like exercising or going for a walk, simply because the pain is too intense. The frustration of trying different treatments—whether it’s orthotics, stretching, or even injections—only adds to the stress when nothing seems to provide lasting relief.
The pain can even interfere with your sleep, making it difficult to rest properly and leaving you feeling tired and stressed during the day. For those whose jobs require them to be on their feet, plantar fasciitis can be especially troubling,
sometimes even forcing them to take time off work.
The inability to stay active might lead to weight gain, which can, unfortunately, make the symptoms even worse. And then there’s the financial side—between the cost of treatments and potential lost income, the burden can start to feel overwhelming.
If any of this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone. Many patients describe feeling exactly like this before finding the right treatment plan. We’re here to help you navigate this challenging condition and work towards getting you back on your feet—literally and figuratively.

For months I was having terrible foot pain and ignored it, thinking it would go away...but it didn't! I was too afraid to go to a foot doctor and them tell me it was something scary, but then I heard someone talk about AK Med Spa on the radio and how much they loved it and the care they received. So I made an appointment and met Dr. Judd, and let me tell you he's amazing! He really helped me understand the cause of my foot pain, he listens to me and cares. He is a healer, a great doctor, and always making me laugh. Him and his staff are skilled and caring!

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that causes pain in the heel and bottom of the foot. It occurs when the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot connecting your heel bone to your toes, becomes inflamed.
This inflammation can cause sharp, stabbing pain, particularly with the first steps in the morning or after periods of inactivity.
While the exact cause is often unclear, it's frequently associated with factors such as excessive running or walking, inadequate foot support, or weight gain.
Yes, plantar fasciitis can often be reversed with appropriate treatment and lifestyle changes. The key is to reduce inflammation and pain, allow the plantar fascia to heal, and address any underlying causes or contributing factors. Consistency in treatment and sometimes changes in activities that stress the foot are also important. While recovery time varies by individual, many people can significantly reduce or eliminate their symptoms with proper care and prevent recurrences. However, severe or chronic cases may require more time or advanced treatments.
Depending on the severity and compliance of each patient, we typically average 30-85% improvement in symptoms if we can accept them into our program.
